Optical motion capture system

Motion capture is the process of recording a live motion event and translating it into usable mathematical terms by tracking a number of key points in space over time and combining them to obtain a single three-dimensional representation of the performance (Menache, 2000). Optical motion capture sys...

Optical motion capture system tends to utilize video cameras to track the motion of reflective markers (or pulsed LED's) attached to joints of the performer's body. This kind of system is relatively expensive if to be sold in the Philippine market. This paper presents an approach that attempts to address the problem with regard to cost. It makes use of colored markers to track human skeletal joints and implements the concepts and theories of image processing and stereo vision. The purpose and goal of this research is to experiment on the possibility of a low cost system using the said approach together with the lowest costing class of cameras which are the web cameras. 2006-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/14604 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Computer vision Image processing--Digital techniques Application software Three-dimensional display systems
