The high demand of orders are putting a strain to the bartender's capability, rendering him to make mistakes more often. The function of the bartender is simulated in the group's dissertation of the Automated Bartending Machine. Each of the bartending process was replicated using various industry grade mechanical and electrical components, as well as software programming. A touch screen was used for the human interface, solenoid valves were used for the dispensing of drinks, pneumatic components such as cylinders were used for the cup and ice dispenser, a smart card reader was used for the payment system, and a PLC was used for the brains of the whole machine. The automated bartending machine prototype was able to successfully automate the bartending process starting from the ordering of drinks, the shaking of the drinks, the dispensing of ice and cups and up to the payment of the customer.
