Sindiong, Martin Alejandro S. Zigbee Technology has been around for a few years now, and it is being used in several applications including lighting systems, home automation, remote control and healthcare. In this project, the technology is utilized to create a simple wireless home security system. The components of this security system include the central hub with monitoring display, the sensor arrays, a keyfob for remote control, and the light, door lock, and smoke detector components. The Zigbee modem is connected to each component and its digital input/output capabilities are used to transmit and receive information from the different end devices. The central hub is configured to be the PAN coordinator of the system and this allows all the other components to connect to it and also act as routers themselves. This central hub is equipped with microcontrollers that perform functions like activating the siren, sending an SMS message to the user, opening and closing the door lock, turning the light on or off, and displaying the status of each component. The sensor arrays, when triggered, immediately react and transmit to the central hub so that the siren may be sounded and an SMS message is sent to the user. When within the vicinity, the user can control the system using the keyfob which allows him to perform actions like opening and closing the door lock, turning the light on or off, sending an SMS, and even enabling and disabling the system. Overall, this project allows a typical household to place a security system which they can control and that would give feedback. Thus, allowing them to increase security and safety in their home. 2010-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/14689 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Dwellings--Security measures Burglary protection Electronic security systems Electronic alarm systems--Design and construction Security systems Safety |
