Summary: | Emphatic computing is an emergent paradigm that enables a system to understand and share human states information through embedded-agents [5]. An Emphatic room is a smart place where emphatic computing is implemented. Different application and devices are required to interact over the network, therefore requiring a communication protocol to allow sending and retrieving of data across the network. A communication protocol contains a set of rules for the communications in the network. The need of the users to have an easier way interacting over the network is the target of the MOD-G communication protocol.
MOD-G protocol for the network creates a paradigm by which the different nodes can interact over the network. A mode is any computer that contains a device or application. MOD-G defines rules in packet formation that is followed in bridging messages in the network. MOD-G also defines an Application Programming Interface (API) that enables the user to send and retrieve data between the different nodes in the network with ease. Data transfer of any kind of data between different nodes in the network with ease. Data transfer of any kind of data between different nodes is facilitated and identification of each is supported. In effect, a unification of all data acquisition modules created in the empathic space is formed allowing all the data to be accessible to all the modules of the empathic system. An application prototype and a utility program are created to verify the functionalities of the MOD-G protocol. |
