Description
Summary:Technology has been widely used to help make the lives of people better. The study primarily aims to establish the influence of information found in Facebook profiles of each applicant over the perception of prospective employers in the Philippine setting. Since the study was based from a paper conducted in the United States of America, the researchers decided to explore if this type of hiring process exists in the Philippines and to what extent does it have an effect on the perception of employers. Respondents of the study came from different business establishments that currently use Facebook as part of their hiring process. The researchers used chi-square method to find out if the information found in Facebook affects the perception of an employer towards an employee. Once the results were revealed, the proponents of this study found out that profile pictures, wall posts, activities and interest are the most important information that employers tend to look at when using Facebook as part to some employers. To a significant extent therefore, the information found in Facebook profiles of applicants affect the perception of prospective employers.
