Description
Summary:This study is aimed to make exploratory data analyses on the occurrence of explosive volcanism among active volcanoes in the Philippines. It featured four out of six active volcanoes namely the Mayon, Taal, Bulusan and Canlaon Volcanoes. The repose period of Mayon Volcano was correlated with the Volcanic Explosivity Index as published by the PHIVOLCS. For Tall Volcano, hiloglinear (regression) was performed to construct a model that would best represent how the air temperature above the crater is affected by the lake temperature and chemical content of the Taal Lake. Chemical analysis of water samples gathered from different springs of the Taal, Bulusan and Canlaon Volcanoes are also studied. Chemicals are grouped together by factor analysis. The level of acidity is predicted by the variation of chemicals present in the water samples.
