An application of simulation in queuing for a non-poisson distribution with K-phase service

The study determines the service facility in a medical clinic-ABS Medical Center, in the light of the relevant costs and the characteristics of the arrival patterns of the patients so that the sum of all costs associated with the queueing system will be minimized. The system under consideration foll...

David, Eileen Z. The study determines the service facility in a medical clinic-ABS Medical Center, in the light of the relevant costs and the characteristics of the arrival patterns of the patients so that the sum of all costs associated with the queueing system will be minimized. The system under consideration follows the K-Erlangian model with k phases, from which the following information have been collected: (1) the average arrival time of a patient (2) the service times of each unit in the system (3) the service pattern (4) the arrival pattern (5) cost of check-up. The Chi-square goodness of fit test is instrumental in determining whether the interarrival and service times are exponentially distributed. The theoretical aspects of the queueing system and simulation are discussed. 1986-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/15997 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Simulation methods Poisson distribution Queuing theory
