Description
Summary:This study aims to describe the role, participation, condition and awareness of women labor union leaders regarding the policies, programs and services implemented by the TUCP in selected affiliate unions. Personal interviews were conducted with twenty-four (24) women labor union leaders in Metro Manila and Bulacan. It became evident from the results of the interview that the roles played by women leaders are still the stereotyped women roles. With regard to participation of women leaders, it was found that they are enthusiastic about union activities and have major parts in the decision making process of the labor union. On the other hand, it could be said that the condition of the women leaders is fairly well because discrimination was only reported by a minority. It was also determined that the women union leaders are not well informed regarding the policies, programs and services being implemented by the TUCP for the welfare upliftment of women labor union leaders.
