Summary: | This paper presents some applications of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Linear Algebra in decision making. AHP is a practical way to deal quantitatively with different kinds of functional relations in a complex network. It helps decision makers to determine what information is worth acquiring, to evaluate the impact of relevant factors in complex situations, and to track inconsistencies in their judgments and preferences. This thesis is based on Ed Barbeau's article entitled Perron's Result and a Decision on Admissions Test and T.L. Saaty's Decision Making for Leaders presents the principles behind AHP. In addition, books on Linear Algebra are helpful in presenting AHP in its mathematical perspective. |
