Description
Summary:The theory of Markov Chains is used to illustrate and examine undergraduate student flows between the different levels within the College of Science of De La Salle University from data gathered from the schoolyears of 198102 to 1987-8. A model of the system is created to determine:1. The average number of years that a student will be in each year level before he either leaves or graduates.2. The proportion of students in each year-level that will either leave or graduate.3. The probability of leaving or graduating, starting at each year-level.4. The number of students in each of the year-levels in the future years in the short and long run given the initial conditions and using the transition matrix.
