Summary: | Music is hard to manipulate. Nowadays, in order for an arranger to produce high-quality sound, special preparations are necessary since he will be dealing with big and complex machines. The Digital Sound Mixing Editor (DSME) lessen these aforementioned necessities to produce quality sounds. The system uses user-friendly, mouse-driven software, and plugged-in card, to be able to create a system that can accept independently produced high-quality music and modify it for later use. The hardware consist of amplifiers, analog-to-digital converter (ADC), digital-to-analog converter (DAC), filters, SRAM, up/down counters and buffers. The system uses two input source devices. First, an auxiliary input device, for musical instruments which are electronically capable of inputting its sounds directly. And the other, is the microphone, as an alternative input source. Since analog input coming from the microphone and/or auxiliary socket are considered weak and susceptible to noise, implication and filtering are necessary. Conversion of the analog signal to digital data follows for editing, using the software. The arranger has the option to store the data into a storage medium, or directly to the output device, the surround sound speaker stereo. Aside from the convenience for the arranger, the system also reduces noise and prevents dubbing degradation. |
