The systems first creates templates of the input signal, basing from the amplitude samples from its twelve filter bands. The resulting template is then compared with the reference templates in the systems vocabulary library. The words in the library are those previously trained by the trainer or trainers. If the input word exists in the vocabulary, then the word is selected among the candidate words. The criteria used in selecting the correct word is by the Smallest Distance Criteria. The system, though it is speaker independent, will be able to recognize clear, discreet, and distinct words which are pronounce correctly and properly. Reliability of the system's performance depends on the way the user speaks the input word. Also provided in the system are useful utilities that would help in the study of the data gathered during the recognition process. These utilities are in form of graphic displays and data listings. Though no specific application has been interfaced to the system, the possibility that it can be interfaced to any desired application is never impossible. 1990-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/16401 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Voice Pattern recognition systems Electronic data processing--Structured techniques Database design |
