But then, this sector which has been reviewed recently by the Department of Agriculture shows that its development has been neglected in the past twenty years [DY91]. Based from the preliminary researches and studies conducted by the group, statistics and proven experiences of several experts show that the Philippine agricultural economy is in its continuing downtrend. Moreso, a series of studies which were made by the group and with the help of some experts in the field of soil and crops involved in the study revealed that several crops are unsuitable for a certain type of soil. Other cases have shown that most of the crops suffer from the many damaging diseases, the primary reason for the decline in crop productivity. With the development of AGROSYS, these problems will be lessened, if not eliminated. AGROSYS is an expert system which has two major capabilities: analysis and diagnosis. These two modules constitute the bulk of the system and it encompasses the possibilities of whether crop has been planted or not. The first phase, which is the analysis part, takes into consideration when no crop has been planted. While the diagnosis phase involves the determination of what the damages of a certain disease has incurred to the crop. Afterwhich, recommendations will be given. Included in the analysis module is the soil test which would deduce the crop(s) best suited for that soil. 1991-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/16403 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Expert systems (Computer science) Database design Operating systems (Computers) Information storage and retrieval systems--Agriculture
