Description
Summary:This thesis entitled PC-BASED OPTICAL RESONATOR CONTROLLER FOR LASER (PC-BASED LORC) is a university funded project conceptualized with the purpose of enhancing the CO2 laser developed by the De La Salle Physics Department. This thesis is part of the three projects spearheaded by the Physics Department. These projects are the laser project done by the Physics team, the bench design and gears done by the Mechanical Engineering team and the PC-based laser optical resonator controller done by this group. The objective of this thesis is to develop a feasible system through which the power of the laser beam will be optimized by controlling the optical resonators. Optical resonators are the two mirrors found at the end of the lasers. The way the mirrors are positioned determines the intensity of the laser beam. The construction of the PC-based optical resonator controller is the first of its kind in the local scene. Among the three local school which successfully developed each own laser, only De La Salle has endeavored on the manipulation of the optical resonators.
