The research design for this study was both descriptive and exploratory. For the institutional profile, the data were gathered through key informants interviews consisting of ten respondents. The annotated bibliography identified emerging generalizations from existing studies and gaps on the research literature. The results from the institutional profile show that sports is divided into the public and private sector while the annotated bibliography shows that sports involvement and sports performance are influenced by factors inherent in the individual and external factors such as coaching. teaching and sports programs and facilities and resources. The data showed that sports can be considered a social institution because like other institutions it has a structural features, roles in detail, aims and principles, social patterns and has a relationship with other social institutions as well. The study identifies the need for more empirical research on the problems that beset Philippine sports. 1999-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/16555 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository |
