When schedules are suitable and are met by the company, the production process runs smoothly. Thus, the use of resources, such as machines and manpower are maximize. However, creating a schedule proves to be a tedious job since there are a lot of possible schedules for a particular project. More so, when unexpected events, such as machine breakdown and lack of personnel, occur, a rescheduling needs to be done. Process Algebra Scheduling sYStem (PASYS) is a scheduling system that generates various schedules using user inputs and the basic concepts of process algebra as basis. It does not, however, determine and identify the optimal schedule. But, from the schedules that were generated, the company can choose any one that it wishes to use. In case unavoidable and unexpected events occur, such as machine breakdown and lack of personnel, it will generate a new set of schedules. The basis for such rescheduling will be the previous schedule that was chosen and the specific date given by the user, which will serve as the new start date. Schedules are displayed either by the hour or by day using Gantt Chart and Fast Track. The whole sewing process can be seen using the Flow Process. PASYS is a user-friendly software which makes use of extensive pull-down menus, on-line help facility, instructions, and error messages. Overall, Process Algebra Scheduling sYStem (PASYS), is a scheduling system which provides the user a variety of schedules from which to choose from, without taking much of his planning or schedule development time.
