Description
Summary:The air express industry is dominated by only several top courier companies. These are DHL Express Worldwide, Federal Express, United Parcel Service, and TNT Worldwide Express. For 22 years, DHL has been building a market share advantage over other much younger courier firms. It is largely for this reason that DHL has always been considered the company to beat. However, Federal Express felt the need to be constantly updated on market developments. Hence, this research study. Through this study, it was confirmed that DHL remains the market leader, followed by Federal Express and UPS in a close tie. However, Federal Express, UPS, and TNT are very much competitive in terms of service and capability. It seems that it would only take some time before these market challengers take away significant market shares from DHL. This is a very competitive industry, and it is the finding of this study that Federal Express has emerged to be a serious challenger in its own right.
