Perez, Jonahbeth T. The research is entitled Market Study on the Demand and Supply of Wood Treated Products of AG & P - Creoaoting Division . The market demand was focused on the electrification and telecommunication development programs undertaken by specific major end-users such as MERALCO, NEA, NPC, and PLDT. Most firms require wood poles, anchor logs and cross-arms that need to be treated. Market supply was based on wood products provided by our forest resources available for wood treating companies. An exploratory research design employing personal interviews among major end-users and company representatives was used to determine the following objectives: 1. Market demand for treated wood products particularly those used for transmission and distribution systems 2. Market supply of treated wood products 3. Identify competitors and their activities regarding the effects of selective logging in the wood treating industry. 4. Pinpoint the areas covered by selective logging and review the forestry programs of DENR in preserving our forest resources. 5. Identify possible courses of action open to AG & P-Creosoting Division. The economics law of demand and supply was used as the theoretical framework of this study. The study showed an increasing trend for wood pole requirements despite quantity shortage in wood production supply due to deforestation. Identification and utilization of acceptable alternative wood species is the answer to address shortage on supply of wood. Wood species currently used for treatment production were harvested before newly planted trees that can be cut. Participation and support of DENR's Industrial Tree Plantation (ITP) Program or Industrial Forest Management Agreement secures supply of woods since trees cut are replenished or replanted continuously. Advantages and disadvantages for both solutions were considered and analyzed to support given recommendations for the company to undertake. 1992-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/16939 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository
