Summary: | Being the first private bank to be opened in Rizal, the bank was originally incorporated as Rizal Development Bank in 1960. It was only on February 12, 1962 when the bank decided to convert from a development bank to a commercial bank and in the process adopted the title of Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC). This event allowed the bank to offer its clients a full range of commercial banking services and enabled it to lay down a strong foundation for the bank's consistent progress for the years to follow.
Now 34 years later, under the leadership of Mr. Alfonso T. Yuchengco, RCBC is now one of the top ten leading banks in the Philippines. It has spectacularly grown in terms of resources and capital. The bank has taken on the image of being environmentally friendly and at the same time pursuing its goal to becoming the dragon bank.
RCBC has currently 133 branches nationwide. But the paper will be focusing on only one particular branch, which is RCBC Arranque, located in Binondo, Metro Manila. The branch started operations on September 12, 1977 and is currently managed by Mr. Go Eng Bok, also a vice-president of RCBC. Most of the branch's clients are Chinese importers of office supplies and auto spare-parts located in the area. |
