Tan, Mary Ann C. This paper was a study of finding the optimum quality of paper using Response Surface Methodology (RSM). Basic statistical concepts that were used in interpreting and analyzing the relationship between independent variables, Bleached Kraft Pulp (BKP) and Refiner Groundwood Pulp (RGP), and response variables, namely, Caliper y1. Tearing Strength y2, Burst Strength y3, and Tensile Strength y4, were discussed. RSM was applied in the gathered data from the paper industry generated using a central composite design (CCD), which is considered as the most popular second--order design. The model was first fitted. After fitting the polynomial model, graphical representation of the surface was illustrated to determine if the response is within or outside the operability region. The nature of the response surface system and the levels of the input variables that gives the desired conditions of the response variables were then determined with the use of canonical analysis. Exploring the region of interest identifies estimated optimum conditions. 2000-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/16994 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository
