This study, A Study on the Different Factors That Could Affect the Choice of Financial Institution From Whom the Registered Businesses of Sta. These main objectives are: to determine the type of financial institution that is commonly preferred among the business establishments in Santa Rosa, Laguna when obtaining credit to identify significant factors that rural businesses consider in choosing a financial institution, from whom to avail (of) credit and, to examine whether there are common attributes among businesses that prefer informal financial institutions and those that prefer formal financial institutions. To attain these objectives, the paper utilized a stratified random sampling design to choose two hundred twenty-three (223) business establishments in the three barangays of Sta. Rosa, Laguna (Balibago, Don Jose, Tagapo). Through the pilot study which was conducted by the proponents, those forty (40) factor determinants which were in the pilot study survey were then reduced to only eight (8) factor determinants that was used in the actual study. To address the three (3) objectives, the proponents utilized five (5) statistical tools (Chi-Square, Fisher Exact Probability Test, Factor Analysis, Multiple Regression Analysis and Classification Tree). Based on the descriptive statistics, majority of the respondents preferred the formal credit institutions over the informal credit institutions. From the Fisher Exact Probability Test, the results showed that all of the eight (8) factors were significantly chosen by the respondents when they consider an institutions in availing credit. With regards to the third objective, the profile variables show independent behavior with respect to affecting one's choice of a financial institution. In the end, the proponents recommend that the scope of the study be expanded to encompass a greater number of rural areas. For the formal financial institutions, it is recommended that they become much more efficient in improving their system of servicing loans among rural communities. 2001-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/17122 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Financial institutions--Philippines--Laguna |
