Before incorporating the business, the proponents first conducted a feasibility study to determine the marketability of d'Light. The feasibility study covers the objectives, significance and scope and limitations of the study. The study covers all aspects of d'Light. These aspects are the marketing, technical, management and legal, financial and socio-economic aspects.
The proponents surveyed households in villages near the plant site so that the samples will be easily accessible to the group. The group used systematic sampling with a random start. The primary target market of Alitaptap Inc. are those living in Villa Toledo, Metro Gate, Ireneville in Laguna, Pilar Village and Greenview in Las Piñas. After the survey was conducted, the proponents found out that their product, d'Light, is sellable because it was computed that the GMAR of d'Light is 73.90%. The survey also revealed that 77% of the respondents are willing to buy the product. And 54% of the resondents are willing to buy the product at a price range between P 150 to P 250. With regards to promoting d'Light, brochures, flyers, and posters came out as the best promotional tools according to the survey.
The product, d'Light, is a cylindrical shaped hanging lamp, which has a height of 10.25 inches and diameter of 6.25 inches. The overall height of the lantern is 2.5 feet. The production process requires nine steps, namely: tracing and cutting of cloth, measuring and cutting coil rope, assembly of electrical, sewing, wrapping of rings, braiding, attachment of electrical in ring one (1), attachment of cloth to rings, and packaging. The proponents used assembly line method for its production. After conducting the time and motion study, it was determined that the proponents can produce an average of 21 units per day with an efficiency rate of P 87.56%. In order to break-even, the proponents must sell 45 units.
The proponents chose corporation as the form of their business with its distinctive name, Alitaptap Inc. The organizational structure chart shows the structure of the corporation. The company will exist for ten (10) years. The authorized capital stock of Alitaptap inc. is P 27,000, all of which is subscribed and by the incorporators and P 11,700 200 will be paid up which is more than the 25% requirement by law.
The corporation's gross profit ratio is expected to be 43.4%, return on sales is 37.36%, return on assets is 85.57%, return on equity is 85.52%, and return on investment is 593.09%. The asset turnover is expected to be 2.29 times.
The corporation is expected to contribute to the welfare of the society. It will generate employment, pay necessary business and corporate tax, and observe an efficient waste disposal system so that the environment will not be polluted. The corporation may also give generous donations to the needy.
After examining the different aspects of the feasibility study, the proponents have concluded that the project is feasible and that corporation will be able to achieve its stated goals, objectives and most of all, generate profits. |
