Summary: | Brain Worx Incorporated is a corporation, which is engaged in manufacturing a product called Mat 'en Low, formed by ten young student-entrepreneurs of De La Salle University. The plant site of the company, whose existence shall last for 10 months, is located at 1437 Casañas St., Sampaloc, Metro Manila.
The project highlights include the production of Mat 'en Low and determining the availability of a market for the product by conducting a survey. The target market was discussed among the proponents and was later on divided into either primary or secondary markets. In line with this, market segmentation was done and several questions were formulated for the survey questionnaire to be distributed among the residents of the chosen primary market. The said primary market comprises of four households namely San Antonio Village, Sixth Valle Verde, United Hills Village Phase 3, and BF International South. As a result of the survey conducted, a 26.09% market share, an 84.91% GMAR, and a monthly potential demand of 92 units of Mat 'en Low were ascertained. Furthermore, the proponents were able to establish a mark-up of 40%, which sets the price at P 875 based on cost-based pricing and it led to a decision of using market skimming as the company's primary marketing strategy.
First and foremost, in producing Mat 'en Low, the most efficient manufacturing process has yet to be determined. Afterwhich, the appropriate method-job shop or assembly line-for a more productive output must be selected. In this certain project, assembly line was adopted by the organization. With a total production time of three hours, fifty-three minutes and forty five seconds. The maximum, average and minimum production capacities were established to ten (10), six (6) and two (2) respectively.
Each of the said incorporators would contribute an equal share of P 2,000, which sums up to a total initial investment of P 20,000. This is in compliance with the 25% required paid-up capital for the subscribed shares of stock. The total authorized capital stock is 320,000 at P 10 par value.
With regard to finances, multiple computations were done to ensure balanced and accurate amounts. Total project cost reached P 20,000 while total sales budget expected is P 230,125.00. A favorable net income tax of P 73,164.16 can also be derived from the study. Efficiency and effectivity of the company is also validated by good financial ratios.
The socio-economic aspect, on the other hand, discusses the proponents' responsibility in terms of the company's contributions both to the community and the society. One of these-donation of prototypes to calamity victims-is currently on the action plan of the organization. |
