This thesis is an exposition of the article written by Geoffrey Goodson entitled "Inverse Conjugacies and Reversing Symmetry Groups" published by the American Mathematical Monthly in 1999. The main body of this study proves the basic properties of skew centralizers and reversing symmetry groups and illustrate them with well known groups such as permutation groups, dihedral groups and alternating groups. This further explains and establishes the relationship of the different structures in abstract algebra to both skew centralizer and reversing symmetry group. Moreover, inner automorphism is applied to some of the structures discussed in the beginning of this paper. Lastly, the results from the preceeding sections were applied to the case where G is a topological group. 2002-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/17227 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository |
