The research is a study on the Fire Manual Tariff, formulated by the Philippine Insurance Rating Association (PIRA). The proponents gathered perceptions from the people in the industry about the Fire Manual, its problems and probable revisions. The researchers distributed questionnaires and followed it up by interviews with managers and top-level executives. The group found out that there are certain changes that should be made on the Fire Manual Tariff. In the course of our research, we gathered that there should be an increase on the rates for the allied perils (also known as Special Perils ). We also found out that majority of the Non-Life Insurance Companies is breaching the tariff and this practice should no longer be continued to be able to improve the industry.
