Established during the late 1970s, the Financial Management Department through its Management of Financial Institutions (MFI) degree program was launched as an answer to the needs of the Philippine financial service industry. Since then, the department has been providing the country with top managers and professionals knowledgeable in the fields of finance, economics and management. As such, this paper aimed to determine and analyze the performance of MFI students for the periods of 1996-1997 to 2002-2003 or, more specifically, students who had ID numbers ranging from 95, 96, 97, 98, and 99. Furthermore, this paper was made to determine whether the MFI curriculum used by the department for such years addresses the multi-varied sectors of the local finance industry. The study, intending to assess the performance of MFI majors, used the direct relationship between the performance of MFI majors, as measured by their grades from the two (2) pre-requisite courses and eight (8) major subjects not falling under the category of FMAJOR, and the MFI course curriculum. Further, this study was done with the assumption that grades are the best quantitative indicator of performance. The study, descriptive in nature, made use of SPSS ver. 10, specifically factor analysis, to process the data. After running the test, it was found out that the subjects of the study's performance ranges from satisfactory to good since the mean grades for all ten (10) considered subjects generally range from 2.00 to 2.4999 only. Moreover, the study found out that only two (2) components are distinct of all the ten subjects. And these components are named: specialized and general. 2003-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/17327 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Financial institutions--Management De La Salle University--Graduates
