The sight of a garbage bin overflowing and the stench from it, the all too familiar sights and smells of a crowded city. You look away from it and hold your nose as you cross this scene. Have you ever thought that you also have a role to play in the creation of this stench? Has it also crossed your mind that you, too, can also play a role in the lessening of this smell and making the garbage bin look a little more attractive? The problem on solid waste management has plagued our country for decades now and proof of its effect can be seen from the deteriorating condition of our surroundings. Huge amounts of trash are illegally dumped in sidewalks, in streets, the rivers, and creeks permitting foul-smelling odor to reach our air and our waters. The attitude of consumerism has also taken its toll on our environment. Consumers buy more and more thereby creating more and more trash. We are all guilty of this. WE can help solve our garbage problem if each and every one of us start take responsibility for our actions. Our group has formulated programs specifically designed to address the growing problem of our country's solid waste management situation. We have devised an extensive information campaign to educate the people from all levels about solid waste management. These programs will also encourage the people to practice segregation and resource recovery, two very important factors in the success of any solid waste management plan. It is our group's sincerest wish that through this paper, we will be able to instill in the minds of the people, the values of environmental preservation. We aim to rouse in the people a sense of accountability and to encourage them to take action before it is too late. 2001-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/17666 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Marketing |
