A market research on hilti's diamond core drilling system

The Philippines is in a phase of economic progression that hearkens a continuous adaptation of latest technology in order to be recognized in the international arena. However, the price-sensitive market often times impedes the transmission of this technology. Such is the case in the Power Tools Industry. Power Tools are industrial tools that are powers by electricity. It is a regret that no explicit information whatsoever can be found in both public and private institutions that is of relevance to this type of products and consequently to the industry as well. There is hence a necessity for a pioneering industry study, which this paper in part attempts to provide. The core of this paper revolves around the research study for Hilti Philippines. A descriptive research is undertaken to shed light on the question regarding the favorability of launching one of Hilti's newest product line, the Diamond Drilling System. The Diamond Drilling System is an innovative drilling system that can efficiently and conveniently drill holes through concrete and masonry, draw core samples, and cut through rebars. To accomplish this research endeavor, a survey of 100 construction companies within Metro Manila provided the database for this study. Taken together, the results of the study revealed that a potential market for DD exists in both areas of rent and sales. In this light, the results have provided a springboard for the launching of DD in the Philippine market. Rental and sales strategies as well as overall company strategies are therefore proposed in this paper.
