This study examined whether the absolute confidentiality clause of foreign currency deposits found in Section 8 of R.A. 6426, will violate the following rights of public officials, namely: Right to Equal Protection, Right to Privacy, and the Right against Self-Incrimination. It also examined if it will adhere to the Right of Information of the individuals of the Philippines and to the Public Accountability of public officials. The study found that it will not violate any of the rights of the public officials and will increase transparency in the Philippine Government. It is conclusive that public accountability will always adhere over the privacy of these government officials.
