Description
Summary:This study examined whether or not prostitutes in the Philippines should be decriminalized under Article 202 of the Revised Penal Code. The researchers found that it is in violation of constitutional mandates on equality among women and men, protecting the dignity of every human person, and promoting the right to health of persons under Article II Sections 11, 14, and 15 of the 1987 Philippine Constitution. To support these, the researchers also included Philippine laws such as the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003 and the Magna Carta of Women.
