Hornshaw, Andrew Ray S. Tan, Kimberly Joel P. This study focuses on the difference and comparison of life satisfaction levels for rural-urban migrants and rural non-migrants. An option for rural residents is to migrate to a more urbanized environment where these needs are easily accessible. Following the theory of liability, if an individual's needs are gratified by the surrounding environment, then a person's life satisfaction will increase. A sample of one hundred and thirty three participants were gathered and split into two groups: rural-urban migrants and rural non-migrants. Life satisfaction was measured using Diener's Satisfaction with life scale. Rural-urban migrants showed higher levels of life satisfaction (m=25.6) than rural non-migrants (m=21.1). This study may help government officials to add needed services and facilities to rural environments so as to improve living conditions of rural residents. 2015-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/18106 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Psychology
