Description
Summary:After the Asian financial crisis in 1997, corporate governance became the centre of attention for many researchers and analysts. However, the study of the development of corporate governance of banks in the Philippines has been almost ignored by literature due to its unique nature and heavy regulations. Using panel regression, we aim to establish the degree of significance and relationship of corporate governance with the performance of banks by analyzing its sensitivity from 1998 to 2008. We believe that corporate governance primarily influenced the performance of listed and non-listed banks in the Philippines.
