Description
Summary:The study analyses the determinants of domestic private commercial bank interest margins in the Philippines using bank specific, industry specific and macroeconomic data for the period of 2001-2010. The study will use net interest margin to measure the interest rate margin. The net interest margin (NIM) will serve as the dependent variable with overhead costs of the bank, liquidity ratio, equity ratio, size, bad debts ratio, taxes on financial operations, bank competitions, reserve requirement, annual inflation, exchange rate volatility and T-bill interest rates serving as the independent variables.
