Alongside this ad- diction, people have tendencies to develop alcoholism - another alarming addiction. These two addictions sometimes go hand in hand since the establishments that encourage gambling and/or alcoholism also encourage the other addiction. In this paper, we presented a model presenting the behavior of the compulsive gambler population with alcoholism as a secondary addiction. In the process of analyzing this we discover that it is possible to simplify the presented model into an SIR model. This can be obtained by removing alcoholism leaving gambling as the only addiction in the population. Through different mathematical techniques, we were able to show that with the increase of compulsive gamblers in an environment, there is also an increase of alcoholics. Also, a faster eradication of alcoholism can be achieved so long as we make the transition of social drinkers to alcoholics as small as possible. 2019-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/18561 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Mathematics
