Elemental composition and morphology determination of PM2.5 ambient aerosols in the DLSU area using JEOL SEM-EDX

Whatman Nuclepore Polycarbonate filters were exposed using an Airmetrics Minivol High Volume Air sampler at 5 liters per minute. Exposure was done every 6 days as per collaboration with the Manila Observatory. Exposure was done on a 2-hour on 2-hour off basis with a total of 12 hours exposure over 2...

Whatman Nuclepore Polycarbonate filters were exposed using an Airmetrics Minivol High Volume Air sampler at 5 liters per minute. Exposure was done every 6 days as per collaboration with the Manila Observatory. Exposure was done on a 2-hour on 2-hour off basis with a total of 12 hours exposure over 24 hours. Mass of the samples were determined using a microbalance. Meteorological data were recorded and correlated with PM2.s data. Relationship of PM2.s activity and meteorological data were investigated. Using SEM-EDX analysis, the morphology and elemental composition of the exposed samples were determined. The SEM images were in line with the EDX elemental composition. The morphology of the samples resembles fly ash and soot aggregate chains which were confirmed with the elemental composition of the samples given by the EDX. 2010-03-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/18611 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Particulate matter—Philippines—Manila—Analysis Environmental Indicators and Impact Assessment Environmental Monitoring
