MATLAB-aided antero-postero lateral dose rate calculation for low dose rate brachytherapy procedure
This study has successfully created a MATLAB-aided program for Low - Dose Rate Brachytherapy that calculates for the Antero-Postero Lateral Dose Rate. The proponents developed a Graphical User Interface in accordance to the MATLAB-aided program where the user has full control of how many radioactive...

The proponents developed a Graphical User Interface in accordance to the MATLAB-aided program where the user has full control of how many radioactive sources (Cesium-137) would be used along with the specification of the date of therapy and the date when the radioactive source (Cesium-137) was obtained. Essential values are required to be inputted by the user. Moreover, the values for Air Kerma, Decay Factor and half-life ofCesium-137 were indicated in the GUI. The computed dose rate values of the developed program were compared with the computed values of the University of Perpetual Help - Dr. Jose G. Tamayo Medical Center resident medical physicist which yielded an average percent difference of 0. 059527% and -0.30991% for total treatment time. This study was created to aid medical physicists with the computation of Dose Rate and Total Treatment Time with more accuracy. The said program makes sure that there will be no missing components thus it was equipped with an error checking system. In addition, the user can save time in computing. 2010-12-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/18638 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Radiation dosimetry Radiation—Measurement Biological and Chemical Physics Physics |
