Air quality characterization in the DLSU campus vicinity using the EMB monitoring system, CLIMET CI-550 and METONE e-sampler

Air pollution has been one of the concerns of many environmental researchers now since it is not only the environment itself that is affected but rather it also includes the people in it Specifically, the concern lies on what contributes to it and it will boil down to the different air pollutants. Air pollution has been one of the concerns of many environmental researchers now since it is not only the environment itself that is affected but rather it also includes the people in it Specifically, the concern lies on what contributes to it and it will boil down to the different air pollutants. Thi5 study is done characterize the different air pollutants present within the DLSU Campus Vicinity U5ing three devices which are the EMB Monitoring Station composed DOAS and TEOM, CLIMET CI-550 and METONE E sampler. These air pollutants include particulate matter of different sizes, CO, NO2, SO2, Benzene, Toluene, and Xylene and the testing date was from January 2012 to April 2016. Air quality was characterized by comparing its monthly variation, weekend and weekday variation, as well as the variation comparing special holidays versus regular days. Results were confirmed by graphical illustration and statistics and it tells that there is a significant difference between the amount or concentrations of air pollutants when comparing it by months and by weekend & weekday variation. However, little to no significant difference is found when comparing special holidays with regular days. Correlation between air pollutants and meteorological factors were determined. Also, correlation between health and air pollutants was examined. 2016-11-01T07:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/18635 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Particulate matter—Philippines—Manila Air quality—Philippines—Manila Environmental Indicators and Impact Assessment Environmental Monitoring
