Kok, Kevin Austin Brito Pe, Raymond Gaerlan Ymson, Arvin Eduardo Arrojo Hardiplast Corp. is a manufacturing company that specializes in producing a variety of plastic injection molded products. These products include plastic tables, chairs, cabinets, containers, racks, waste bins and baskets. Among these products, cabinets comprises most of the company's sales revenue (70.12%) for the previous year 2015, amounting to P7,560,000. The company is located at 9002 West Service Road Patubig, Marilao Bulacan. The company envisions being a top leader in supplying high quality plastic products over the next generations and beyond. The company's objective is to have no unmet demand of cabinets. During the period of January 2015 to December 2015, the company incurred an unmet demand of227 cabinets which resulted to an opportunity loss of Php 681,000. After evaluating the probable causes of the problem, the final causes include: discoloration defects caused by contamination of re-used raw material (26.43%), warpage defects due to lack of mold temperature monitoring (33.92%), damage in transit due to improper loading (24.23%) and unfinished cabinets due to machine breakdown (15.42%). The proposed solutions to improve the company's system include: Use plastic bins to contain plastic shredding, use laser gun thermometer to monitor mold temperature, use pallets in loading cabinets and provide and implement maintenance schedule. The computed net present value for the proposed system in five (5) years is Php3,836,115.71 While the annual net benefit for the proposed solutions is Php1,028,558.02. 2017-05-01T07:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/18617 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Plastics industry and trade—Production control Operations Research, Systems Engineering and Industrial Engineering |
