Platero, Merici Bianca T. A system study was conducted on Joven Industries, Inc., a company that manufactures electrical devices. The study focuses on the production of 30- and 60-Amps Safety Switches, the products that are mass produced in their manufacturing plant in Malabon, for the study period January 2016 to December 2016. Based on the specific goals of the company, the company was evaluated by determining their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. After evaluation, a WOT-SURG situation appraisal was conducted and it was determined that the greatest problem of the company is the 6.81 % delayed deliveries of 60 Amp Safety Switches, which resulted to total cost of P397,784.40. This problem was further investigated by using Cause and Effect Analysis to determine the root causes of the problem. The problem was rooted to four different issues, namely: (1) powder paint coating does not adhere well to the surface, (2) the distance of the upper and lower connecting rod is not consistently implemented, (3) batch processing and quantity, and (4) sales personnel adapt a hit or miss process in determining due date. Given these root causes, there were five (5) proposed solutions, namely, incorporate routine cleaning for the maintenance of the spray paint guns, fabricate a jig as a measuring tool for the distance of the welding rods, reduce the batch quantity and total output, and use google drive as a tool for real time monitoring of production. The proposed solutions will have a net present value of Php247,525.76 and expected payback period of three months. 2018-04-19T07:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/18645 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Electric industries—Production control Root cause analysis Operations Research, Systems Engineering and Industrial Engineering
