The study is focused on the retreading system of ALTHEA Retreading Corporation (ARC) for light truck, truck, and off-the-road tires. The time horizon involved in the study of from the time of order to the time when the finished goods are stored. The data gathered by the proponents is from January 2008 to December 2008. The general objective of the study is to be able to produce high quality retreaded tires on time and the least cost. Through the situational appraisal, it was found out that the company’s main problem was on the returns that the company incurred which gave a high cost for the company. The proponents then gathered data on why these returns happened and verified them using actual data. Then the causes were trimmed down using the Pareto Principle of 80-20. Solutions were based on the causes found and a Kepner-Tregoe Decision Analysis was used to determine the solutions to be used to solve the problem. The proponents then discussed the proposed system that was built up by the solutions that were chosen. A cost-benefit analysis is done to determine the feasibility of the system that is being proposed, the result was that the company will have a positive benefit when the system is implemented. Lastly is the implementation plan, where the system is chronologically arranged on how to set the system and other factors involved in setting up the system.
