Summary: | This study was conducted primarily to compare and determine the effects of the varying concentrations of Malathion and Sevin, on the growth and morphology of the Corchorus olitorius. Sixty plants of this species were planted in Merville, Paranaque and sprayed 3 times with Malathion and Sevin before harvesting. Results revealed that Malathion and Sevin have significant effects on the growth and morphology of the treated plants. Sevin gave the most satisfactory results as compared to the Malathion treated plants. Sevin was the most effective at higher concentrations, Malathion at lower concentrations. Corchorus olitorius plants treated with high concentrations of both pesticides have brown leaves, stunted growth, smaller leaf area and stem diameter and lesser fresh and dry weights. |
