In the conduct of this study, one hundred seventy-five (175) questionnaires were distributed at random and supplemented by individual or group interviews plus photographs of the people and some of their important plants. These economically important plants were categorized as source of food, building and construction materials, medicine, animal feeds, ornamental plants, and for other purposes such as cleaning and cleansing materials, cordage, dyes, fumigatories and masticatories, paste or glue, perfumes and toys.A total of one hundred forty-four (144) plant species were found to be economically important to the Kankanays and Ibalois of Baguio City.
