Summary:One hundred forty-one stool samples were collected from child residents, ages 1-15 years old of Barangay Escopa, Quezon City. Direct Fecal Smear (DFS) technique was used to find eggs of helminthic parasites namely, Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura and others. Only Ascaris and Trichuris eggs were noted. Ascariasis had an overall prevalence rate of 44.68 percent while Trichuris had 2.84 percent. Ascariasis were noted at 82.86 percent and 57.89 percent for ages 1-3 and 4-6 years old respectively. Trichuris infection was highest in age groups 10-12 and 13-15 years old at 13.13 percent and 20 percent respectively. Results of the present study showed no significant relation between respondents sex and prevalence rate of infection.
