Acute lethal toxicity of the fungicide chlorothalonil to Tilapia nilotica Linnaeus
Estimates of median lethal concentration (LC50) values of chlorothalonil, the active ingredient of the fungicide Daconil 2787 75WP, to Tilapia nilotica Linnaeus were derived for 8, 12, 24, 36, 48, 72, and 96 hr from mortality data generated from static, short-term toxicity tests. Summary: | Estimates of median lethal concentration (LC50) values of chlorothalonil, the active ingredient of the fungicide Daconil 2787 75WP, to Tilapia nilotica Linnaeus were derived for 8, 12, 24, 36, 48, 72, and 96 hr from mortality data generated from static, short-term toxicity tests. LC50 values computed using regression, probit analysis and nomographic method ranged from 0.28 to 0.10 mg/L. Fish mortality following chlorothalonil treatment demonstrated concentration and time related increases. The data revealed that chlorothalonil is acutely toxic to T. nilotica. |
