Exposure to 5 mg/1 As (V) resulted to significant increase (p,0.05) in the oxygen consumption but not on the rate of opercular movement of the test fish. At 10 mg/1 As (V) concentration, mean oxygen consumption was significantly decreased (p0.05) but not the rate of opercular movement. However, variation in data due to fish and concentration was statistically insignificant.
