Hematological effects of follidol on the guinea pig Cavia porcellus

The effect of Follidol on the blood of the guinea pig (Cavia porcellus) was studied. The following blood characteristics were observed: Red Blood Cell Count, White Blood Cell Count, Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate, and Hematocrit. Three female guinea pigs each were used for control and experimental....

Three female guinea pigs each were used for control and experimental. For the experimental group, a sublethal dose of 10.5 mg/kg was injected intraperitoneally while for the control group, 0.9 percent saline solution was injected in the same manner and quantity. Triplicate set ups for a total of 18 animals were used. The hematological test were then conducted one week after exposure. Results showed that red blood cell count, white blood cell count, and erthrocyte sedimentation rate increased significantly while hematocrit increased significantly as compared to the control group based on the 0.05 level of significance. 1993-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/1164 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Blood--Analysis and chemistry Guinea pigs Pesticides--Toxicology
