In lieu of this, the researchers had been motivated in finding ways and means to provide cheap fibers to be used as suitable concrete admixtures. This further insinuated the researchers to possibly use hair fibers which are also abundantly available. The research study was made with the hope that the hair fibers used would also be suitable as quality admixture enhancing an increase in the strength of concrete. Several related studies were reviewed to obtain further for potential experiment. Though the related studies on this subject matter are quite few, it has greatly helped in giving direction to the research study. The procedure used in this experiment are based on the report of the AMERICAN CONCRETE INSTITUTE 544.1R-544.2R. The tests used on the materials and specimen are based on the AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR TESTING AND MATERIALS (1983).However, the final outcome of mixing the concrete specimens with hair fibers proved to be unsuitable as concrete admixtures because of significant lower compressive and tensile strengths. 1993-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/1167 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Portland cement Concrete--Mixing Concrete--Additives Fibers Strength of materials Cement Concrete admixtures |
