Description
Summary:The physico-chemical properties of drinking water were monitored in four stations in Liliw, Laguna from October, 1993 to January, 1994. The objective of the study was to determine the quality of drinking water and compare it with the standards set by the government. The average results of the different parameters were the following: 1) temperature ranged from 24.1 centigrade to 24.6 centigrade 2) pH readings ranged from 7.02 to 7.11 units 3) salinity readings were nil 4) conductivity readings ranged from 110.4 to 112.6 umhos 5) Alkalinity ranged from 1.82 x 10 to 1.84 x 10 mg CaCo3/L 6) Dissolved oxygen ranged from 4.38 to 4.46 mg/L 7) Nitrate content ranged from 1.102 to 1.192 mg/L 8) Phosphate content ranged from 0.317 to 0.356 mg/L. Based on the physico-chemical parameters measured, the drinking water in Liliw, Laguna were observed to be safe as they conformed with the standards set by the government.
