Summary: | Female guinea pigs (Cavia porcellus) weighing between 150-350 grams were used for this study. The study was comprised of two groups, the control and the treated groups. The treated group was injected intraperitoneally with a single sublethal dose of 1 mg/kg (1percent LD50) of methamidophos. After five days, the guinea pigs were sacrificed and blood cell and platelet counts were done. Results showed that there was an insignificant decrease in the WBC, RBC and platelet counts in the treated group when it was compared with the control group. |
