The effects of light intensity on the growth of Coleus amboinicus lour. (oregano)

The growth of the Coleus amboinicus L. under different light intensities were investigated. Light intensities used were 100 percent (72,671 root candles) or open condition and 48 percent (35,289 root candles) and 30 percent (22,889 root candles) or the open condition. As light intensity decreased. S...

Some parameters of the plant also decreases: the chlorophyll content decreased from 0.43758 to 0.34646 mg/g fresh weight, the leaf area decreases from 97.0 to 65.5 cm sq. the nitrogen content decreased from 0.0475 to 0.0225 percent N dry weight and the stomatal frequency from 2.209.5 to 1.965 stomatal in one cm. As light intensity decreased, the length of the stomatal increased from 8.0 to 9.4 millimicrons. The height increment of the plant was highest under 48.51 percent light condition and lowest under 100 percent light condition. A qualitative histochemical test confirmed the presence of fats and oils, tannis and alkaloids in the plants. 1995-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/1278 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Plant physiology Growth (Plants) Plants Effect of light on Medicinal plants
